Hartalika Teej fast has special significance in Hindu tradition. On this day, married women observe a strict fast for the long life of their husbands and a happy married life. On this day, there is a provision to worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. At the same time, some unmarried women also keep this fast with the wish of a good life partner. This festival is celebrated every year on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year this fast will be observed on 6 September 2024.

On the day of Hartalika Teej, women should wake up in the Brahma Muhurta in the morning and take a holy bath.

Clean the temple before starting the puja.

Take a resolution before starting the fast.

On this day, offer Arghya to the Sun God and also offer water to the banana plant.

On this occasion, worship Lord Shankar and Mother Gauri with full rituals.

Women should wear red or green clothes, especially newly married women should do sixteen makeup.

Apply mehendi on your hands and feet a day before Teej.

Focus on positive things on this day and spend your day chanting mantras or singing auspicious bhajans.

Make sure to offer kheer on this day and feed it to your husband as prasad, this will make the married life happy.

Pregnant women can skip the fast, but if they really want to observe the fast, they should stay hydrated during the day by drinking coconut water and fresh juices.

Women should prepare satvik prasad at home.

After the fast is over, offer sweets and dakshina to your mother-in-law and seek her blessings by touching her feet.
