Shock to Congress candidate during Haryana assembly elections
All political parties are busy campaigning with full force in the Haryana assembly elections. Meanwhile, Congress has suffered a major setback. The Punjab-Haryana High Court has ordered the arrest of Congress candidate from Samalkha, Dharam Singh Choukar. During the hearing against Dharam Singh, the High Court gave an ultimatum to him to surrender himself by October 2 or else he will be arrested.
No action has been taken against Congress leader and current MLA Dharam Singh Choukar even after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. He is accused of contesting the assembly elections and openly campaigning despite the non-bailable warrant. This matter has reached the High Court due to a petition filed by Virendra Singh, who calls himself a social worker from Samalkha, Panipat.
Several criminal cases registered against the MLA
On the order of the High Court on this matter, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Haryana government had to respond to the court on October 1. After this, the Punjab-Haryana High Court ordered the arrest of Samalkha candidate Dharam Singh Choukar. Dharam Singh and his sons have several criminal cases registered against them related to fraud and forgery. Dharam Singh had won a big victory in the last assembly elections. He got more than 81 thousand votes.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is also taking out a Rath Yatra in the state these days regarding the assembly elections in Haryana. Currently, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have addressed many public meetings in Haryana. Congress is trying to strengthen its fort in Haryana. This time both the parties are seen competing against each other in Haryana. Therefore, Congress does not want to lose even a single seat. At such a time, this decision of the High Court is increasing the difficulties of Congress including the Congress candidate.
