Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has reacted today on the pager blast in Lebanon. He has termed the way of supplying pagers as 'Israel's masterstroke'. He has also given information on how prepared India is for such threats. On being asked about the pager blast in Lebanon, the Indian Army Chief said, the pager you are talking about is of a Taiwanese company. Which was being supplied by a Hungarian company.

He said that tampering with the pagers manufactured in Hungary was like a masterstroke on Israel's part. The Army Chief further said that you need years of preparation to do this. This shows that they (Israel) were ready for this.

War starts before fighting

On Israel's preparation for the pager attack, the Army Chief said, "War does not start when you start fighting. War starts when you start planning and this is most important". General Dwivedi praised Israel for its years of preparation for this attack and said that such attacks are not carried out in a few days of operation, they require long preparations.

General Dwivedi said on India's preparation, "Now coming to our point, supply chain disruptions, obstructions are such things for which we have to be very cautious. We have to inspect at different levels, whether it is at the technical level or manually, so that we can ensure that such things are not repeated in our case.

Pager attack

In a series of pager attacks targeting Hezbollah fighters on September 17 and 18, Israel dealt a major blow to Hezbollah. The next day, the walkie-talkies of Hezbollah fighters also exploded.

As a result of thousands of pager and walkie-talkie explosions, at least 37 people, including children, were killed and about 3 thousand people were injured.
