According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough is active at this time and is south of its normal position. It will gradually move north in the next 24 to 48 hours. A wind shear area is running at about 20 degrees north latitude at 3.1 to 7.6 kilometers above the mean sea level. It is bending towards the south with height. There is a strong possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
