For the first time, grandchildren of four former chief ministers will contest
The Lal families once held sway in Haryana politics. Whether it was Jannayak Devi Lal, who rose from the position of Chief Minister to Deputy Prime Minister, or Chaudhary Bansi Lal and Bhajan Lal, who were powerful ministers in the Central Government and Chief Ministers for a long time, all three Lals gave Haryana a special identity in national politics.
Now their grandchildren are ready to contest the assembly elections under the BJP's banner. The third generation of Rao Birendra Singh, who became the second Chief Minister of the state, can also be seen in the election fray for the first time on a BJP ticket.
This will be the first assembly election, when the grandchildren of four former Chief Ministers will be seen battling to make the lotus bloom in central and south Haryana. The BJP, which is aiming to come to power for the third consecutive time in the state, can bet on the grandchildren of former Chief Ministers in its first list of candidates.
Choudhary Bhajan Lal's grandson and Adampur MLA Bhavya Bishnoi has been confirmed to have a ticket for the second consecutive time. Bansi Lal's granddaughter and Rajya Sabha member Kiran Chaudhary's daughter Shruti Chaudhary is considered to be sure of getting the ticket from Tosham.
