Delhi court sentenced 2 people including a High Court judge to 5 years imprisonment
A Delhi court has pronounced its verdict in the Haryana HCS judicial paper leak case. The court has sentenced a Haryana and Punjab High Court judge and two other people to five years of imprisonment each. There were six more accused in the case, including Chandigarh Congress leader Sunil Chopra, but they were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
The Rouse Avenue court has taken action in the leak of the exam for the recruitment of 107 judges in Haryana nine years ago. The Rouse Avenue court of Delhi has convicted former Punjab-Haryana High Court Registrar (Recruitment) Balvinder Sharma and his female friend Sunita and sentenced them to five years of imprisonment each. Sharma was an Additional District and Sessions Judge and was posted in the High Court.

Apart from Sharma, the court has also convicted a woman named Sushila. She was in jail for nine months after the FIR was filed, so her sentence was undergone, that is, she was not sentenced further. There were 6 more accused in this case including Chandigarh Congress leader Sunil Chopra but they were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
The case was registered in 2017
In 2017, Chandigarh Police registered this case on the orders of Punjab Haryana High Court. But on the orders of the Supreme Court, the case was transferred from Chandigarh to Delhi. According to the allegation, a woman lawyer from Pinjore had complained to the High Court that the paper of the recruitment exam for HCS Judicial was leaked.
