What other promises did Congress make in its manifesto?
Congress has launched its manifesto today for the assembly elections. After the seven guarantees, Congress has made many promises to the public. The 40-page manifesto promises free treatment up to Rs 25 lakh and Rs 2000 per month to women.
It has also promised to provide water from the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal. Congress has promised to give government jobs to each family member of more than 700 farmers killed during the farmers' movement.
Promise to implement old pension
It has also promised to implement the old pension scheme. Repeating the pattern of its government in Himachal Pradesh, Congress had announced earlier this month that it would fulfill the seven guarantees if it came to power in Haryana.
Health insurance coverage of Rs 25 lakh
Apart from this, the monthly social security pension of the elderly, disabled and widows will be increased to Rs 6000. Also, gas cylinders will be made available for Rs 500. The party promised to give 300 units of free electricity every month to every household. The Congress government will provide health insurance coverage of Rs 25 lakh to every person in the state like Rajasthan.
Legal guarantee on MSP
The party has promised to give legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) to farmers besides conducting caste census. It announced that it will increase the minimum income limit for creamy layer among Other Backward Classes (OBC) from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
Rs 3.5 lakh cash to homeless person
The party also promised to give 100 square yard plots along with cash assistance of Rs 3.5 lakh to every poor and homeless person to build a two-bedroom house. Announcing a guarantee for a secure future for the youth, it promised that two lakh vacant posts in government departments will be filled and permanent jobs will be given.
Our manifesto is unmatched - Gehlot
Supervisor Ashok Gehlot said that I was talking to journalists yesterday. Then an issue was raised that the Congress government in Rajasthan had decided to provide many facilities to journalists. But you will be happy to know that the issue of cashless health facility and pension hike for journalists is also included in Haryana. Our manifesto is unmatched and everyone knows that Congress does what it says.
