These days, new methods of cheating are seen in the country. Now the thugs have started cheating in the name of online shopping site Amazon. The latest case is from Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Here, thugs are going to people's homes posing as delivery boys. Then they are giving them parcels which the customers never ordered. That is, they are handing over the parcel to them saying that a third person has sent this order for you. But you will have to pay for the parcel.

This incident took place on 30 September 2024 in a flat in Udyog Vihar (LIG) Society located in Sector-82, Noida. In this case, the victim family paid Rs 699, but the parcel contained goods worth only Rs 50-100. When they contacted Amazon customer care, it was found that it was a case of fraud. After this, the victim family lodged a complaint on UP Cyber Crime Helpline 1930.

The victim family told - a delivery boy came to their house. He started saying that someone has ordered goods for you. But this is cash on delivery. Unknowingly the family thought that maybe an acquaintance had sent a gift. They also made the payment for it. But when the parcel was opened, they saw that there was only Rs 50 worth of goods in it. Whereas, they had given Rs 699 to the delivery boy for this.

Woman ordered iPhone

At the same time, a similar case was seen in Bengaluru, Karnataka. A female customer living here ordered iPhone 15 on Flipkart. She chose open box delivery for this. But when the delivery boy brought the courier packet, he refused to let the woman open it. He started saying- you cannot open such a packet. The woman then started making a video of it. The woman told him- I have chosen the option of open box delivery.

Delivery boy refused to open the packet

But the delivery boy did not listen to her. When the woman suspected him, she told him that she would not accept this packet again. After this the delivery boy left from there. After that another delivery boy came. This time the packet brought by the delivery boy was smaller than before. The woman made a video of it and asked to open the packet in front of her. Then the delivery boy agreed. It contained iPhone 15.

The woman's brother shared this experience on Reddit. Wrote- If my sister had taken the first packet, she might not have got iPhone 15. Wrote- The actions of that delivery boy raised more suspicion. Because he was not letting the packet be opened in front of him. Even the packet that came later was different from the first one. That means something was definitely wrong somewhere.
