Israel air strikes in Lebanon
The situation between Israel and Hezbollah is heating up. The Israeli army has struck Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon. This action seems to a response to Hezbollah launching rockets. On side, Hezbollah claims they’ve hit several spots in northern Israel using Katyusha rockets & shells because of the strikes from Israel in southern Lebanon.
The IDF mentioned that over 50 rockets were fired at northern Israel overnight Because of these attacks, schools in the northern area have been closed. People are hearing sirens near the Lebanon border since last night! Hezbollah claimed they targeted Kiryat Shmona in reply to Israel's strikes.
The Israeli army carried out attacks in various locations in Lebanon, targeting areas where Hezbollah is stationed. The army believes that Hezbollah might face serious losses. A statement revealed that the Israeli Air Force went after military bases in Attaron, Maroun el Ras, and Yaroun.
According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, Israel targeted a team that helps with civil defense. They said the Israeli army attacked this security group while they were putting out a fire in the village of Fraun. Sadly, three members of this team lost their lives and two civilians got hurt during this attack.
This incident was strongly condemned by the Lebanese Health Ministry, who plans to report it to the United Nations. It’s important to note this is the second attack on an emergency team within just 12 hours!
After the Israeli army struck, Hezbollah launched many rockets at the northern border. They specifically aimed at ‘Kiryat Shmona’ with Flak missiles & fired dozens more into different places in northern Israel. Most of these rockets were intercepted by Israeli air defenses, but people still hear sirens ringing out all morning. Many folks have had to seek safety in bomb shelters.
