BJP wins Haryana Rajya Sabha elections

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kiran Choudhary has been elected Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana. She has been elected unopposed in this election.

Kiran Choudhary was declared elected unopposed in the Rajya Sabha by-election from Haryana after the deadline for withdrawal of nomination ended at 3 pm on Tuesday.

Former Haryana minister Kiran Choudhary had filed her nomination for the by-election on Wednesday. Being the only candidate in the contest, she was declared elected unopposed.

The winning candidate was given the certificate at 4.33 pm by Returning Officer Saket Kumar for the by-election at the Haryana Assembly Secretariat. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini was also present on the occasion.

Earlier when she filed her nomination, four rebel JJP MLAs also supported her candidature.
