BJP released the first list of 44 candidates
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released the first list of 44 candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Arshid Bhatt will contest from Rajpora. Javed Ahmed Qadri has been fielded from Shopian. Mohammad Rafiq Wani will contest from Anantnag West. Syed Wajahat will contest from Anantnag, Ms Shagun Parihar from Kishtwar and Gajay Singh Rana from Doda.
The BJP did not give ticket to Nirmal Singh. The BJP has given tickets to 2 Kashmiri Pandits in the valley. Kashmiri Hindu Ashok Bhatt has been fielded from Habbakadal in Srinagar. This seat has the highest number of Kashmiri Hindu voters.
Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party had released the first list of seven candidates. Ghulam Nabi Azad's party has also announced candidates on 13 seats.
Let us tell you that this year voting will be held in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir. The first phase of voting will be held on September 18. The second and third phases of voting will be held on September 25 and October 1. Counting of votes will take place on October 4.
