Arvind Kejriwal, born on August 16, 1968, is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Delhi, serving since February 2015. He is also the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a political party that emerged from the anti-corruption movement in India.

Kejriwal was born in Siwani, a small town in Haryana, India. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later joined the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) as a civil servant and worked in the Income Tax Department.

In 2012, Kejriwal entered politics and formed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with other activists and leaders. The party focused on issues such as anti-corruption, transparency in government, and the empowerment of common citizens. Kejriwal gained national prominence for his role in the Anna Hazare-led anti-corruption movement and his efforts to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill.

In the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party made a remarkable debut by winning 28 out of 70 seats and forming a minority government with support from the Indian National Congress. Kejriwal became the Chief Minister of Delhi but resigned after 49 days due to the failure to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill in the assembly.

In the subsequent elections held in 2015, the Aam Aadmi Party won a landslide victory, securing 67 out of 70 seats in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Kejriwal returned as the Chief Minister of Delhi for a second term and has since focused on implementing various initiatives aimed at improving education, healthcare, and infrastructure in the capital city.

Kejriwal's tenure as Chief Minister has been marked by several initiatives, including the Mohalla Clinics for primary healthcare, the transformation of government schools, and the introduction of various welfare schemes for the marginalized sections of society.

Arvind Kejriwal remains a prominent figure in Indian politics, known for his grassroots activism, anti-corruption stance, and commitment to governance reforms. He continues to advocate for clean and transparent politics and has emerged as a key opposition leader at the national level.
