According to ESPN Cricinfo report, VVS Laxman is set to extend his tenure as the head of the Bengaluru-based National Cricket Academy for at least a year. His initial three-year contract was till this September.
Earlier, reports were coming that Laxman could become the head coach of an IPL franchise, but now this position is not possible due to his duties at the NCA. He is likely to be assisted by his team of coaches, which includes Shitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule and Rishikesh Kanitkar, all veterans of Indian domestic cricket.
How was Laxman's 3 year tenure?
During his first three-year tenure at the NCA, Laxman carried forward the processes laid down by his Rahul Dravid to prepare injury management, player rehabilitation, coaching programs and roadmaps for senior teams, age-group and women's cricket.
