Neeraj Chopra created history by winning the gold medal in javelin throw in Tokyo Olympics-2020. He was the first player to win a gold medal for the country in this sport. After this, Neeraj did not look back and won medals in every major competition. Gold medal was expected from him in Paris Olympics-2024 as well, but Neeraj could not bring gold and India had to be content with silver.
Neeraj Chopra has put a silver medal in India's bag in Paris Olympics-2024. Neeraj finished second in the javelin throw final played on Thursday night. Neeraj had won the gold medal in Tokyo Olympics-2020.
Gold was expected from him in Paris as well, but he missed it and had to be content with the silver medal. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal with a throw of 92.97 meters. Nadeem won the gold with an Olympic record. Neeraj won the silver medal with a throw of 89.45 meters.
With this, Neeraj has become the fourth Indian player to win two Olympic medals. Before him, Sushil Kumar, PV Sindhu and Manu Bhaker had achieved this feat. The whole country expected Neeraj to win India's first gold medal in the Paris Olympics, but despite trying his best, he failed in doing so.
