Roadways administration gears up: Free travel for women on Rakshabandhan festival
Raksha Bandhan festival is being celebrated on 19th August, due to which children up to 15 years of age will be able to travel free of cost in buses along with women on Raksha Bandhan. According to the Roadways officials, women will be able to travel free of cost from 12 noon on 18th August to 12 midnight on 19th August.
The Roadways department has geared up to make the journey of women comfortable to tie Rakhi on the wrists of their brothers. For this, preparations have been completed by Kurukshetra Roadways Depot, while the crowd of passengers has started increasing a day before Raksha Bandhan.
More than 15 employees have been deployed by the depot at the new bus stand, old bus stand, Birla Mandir and Pehowa bus stand. These employees will include six inspectors and seven sub-inspectors along with many other employees. Orders have been issued by the department to ensure that women do not face any kind of problem during the journey.

Depot duty inspector Bahadur Singh says that children up to 15 years of age accompanying women on Rakshabandhan festival will not have to pay any fee during the journey. More than 15 employees have been deployed at bus stations to ensure that women do not face any problem, these employees will include six inspectors and seven sub-inspectors.
Crowd of passengers gathered in Jhajjar
In Jhajjar, crowd of passengers gathered at the bus station after 12 noon. Fair like atmosphere was seen at the bus station. However, people had to face problems due to not getting buses on time. Roadways has a total of 113 buses in Jhajjar depot. Out of these, 16 buses have been run on long routes while the rest of the buses are being sent on local routes. For this, the leaves of all drivers and conductors have been cancelled. Apart from this, additional buses have also been deployed.
