Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, 'Our people are very smart, they eat chocolate and throw away its wrapper. But when they go abroad, they keep it in their pocket. He further said that they behave well in other countries but in our country they throw anything anywhere.

Swachhata celebrations are being organized across the country on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today attended the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan program of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, where he gave the message of Gandhigiri to the people. He said that those who spit on the streets after eating paan masala, gutkha, their pictures should be taken and published in the newspaper.

I eat chocolate, but throw the wrapper at home

In his address, he said, "People of our country are very smart. They eat chocolate and throw its wrapper on the streets. When the same person goes abroad, he keeps the chocolate wrapper in his pocket and displays good behavior there, but here he throws garbage on the streets." Gadkari gave his own example to explain to the people. He said, "I also eat chocolates these days, but I throw away the chocolate wrapper after reaching home. Earlier, I also had the habit of eating in the car and throwing away the wrapper."

World's biggest mass movement

Programs have been organized across the country under the Swachhata Abhiyan. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleaned with a broom in Delhi today along with children. On this occasion, PM Modi described Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as the world's biggest and successful mass movement. He said that the contribution of cleanliness in the journey of developed India will strengthen the mantra of prosperity. PM Modi also talked about the importance of water conservation and cleaning of rivers on this occasion. Describing the positive impact of cleanliness on tourism, he said that the countrymen should maintain the cleanliness of tourist places, cultural heritage and holy pilgrimage sites.

He further said, I salute all those people who have contributed to make this movement successful. Today, on 2 October, I am full of a sense of duty and am also emotional. Swachh Bharat Mission has completed ten years. PM Modi appealed to the people to join this program on a large scale.
