More than 2.3 lakh crore rupees are deposited in PM Jan Dhan accounts, the number of accounts has crossed 52 crores

A new update has come regarding PM Jan Dhan Account. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in the Lok Sabha that the number of Jan Dhan accounts has crossed 52 crores.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is being run by the government so that everyone has a bank account. This scheme provides more benefits than a savings account.
Now a new update has come regarding PM Jan Dhan Account. While on one hand the number of PM Jan Dhan accounts is 52.81 crores, the amount deposited in the account is Rs 2,30,792 crore (ie about Rs 2.3 lakh crore).
In 2014, the government launched the PM Jan Dhan Yojana under the National Mission for Financial Inclusion. The aim of this scheme was to provide banking services to every family deprived of banking facilities. Apart from this, the aim was also to promote savings.
Share of women Jan Dhan accounts
Today, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in the Lok Sabha that the number of women Jan Dhan accounts is 55.6 percent of the total Jan Dhan accounts. Apart from this, about Rs 29.37 crore is deposited in the accounts of women-Jan Dhan account holders.
According to the information given by the Union Minister, about 35.15 crore or 66.6 percent PMJDY accounts have been opened in rural and semi-urban areas.

Lakhs enrolled in PMJJBY and APY
Pankaj Chaudhary further said that the government has also started many social security schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
There have been 20.48 crore cumulative enrollments till 19.07.2024 for life insurance claim after death of Rs 2 lakh in PMJJBY scheme. At the same time, about 45.08 crore cumulative enrollments have been made for one year accidental cover, 2 lakh (death or permanent total disability) and 1 lakh (permanent partial disability).
6.71 crore cumulative enrollments have been made for providing monthly pension under Atal Pension Yojana.
