He said that no voter will be eligible to vote even if he has a photo identity card issued by the Election Commission if his name is not in the voter list.
The Election Commission has issued guidelines and made it clear that to exercise the vote, the name of the person concerned must be registered in the voter list. No voter will be eligible to vote with only the photo voter identity card issued by the Election Commission.

For the convenience of voters, the Commission has provided a search option on the Voter Helpline App, through which any voter can check the concerned voter list and ensure whether his name is in the voter list or not.

He said that the Election Commission informed that the date for getting the vote has been made four times a year, earlier the eligibility date was fixed on January 1 every year, but now the date for getting the vote was fixed on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. Still, if the name is not in the special revised voter list published on August 27, then they can contact the BLO and fill Form 6 and get their vote made.
