Stree 2 Collection Day 1: The box office trembled with the roar of 'Stree 2', hit a half century on the very first day

Movies hit the box office every week, but the craze for some movies is seen even before their release. Fans were quite excited about Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao starrer Stree 2 and as expected, this movie has not disappointed its audience at all. 

After the success of 'Stree', everyone was wondering whether this horror comedy sequel will be able to win people's hearts once again. The answer is in front of everyone, this movie is getting tremendous response from the audience. Not only this, 'Stree 2' has also made history in terms of earnings by scoring a half century.

'Stree 2', which was released on 15 August, was competing with two big stars. Akshay Kumar and John Abraham also came with their respective films on the occasion of Independence Day. But one move by the makers of 'Stree 2' changed the whole game. 

The makers held paid preview shows of the film at 9.30 pm on 14 August. With just two shows, 'Stree 2' made a great collection of 8.35 crores and put a lot of pressure on Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' and John Abraham's 'Veda'. But when the film was officially released, the magic of 'Stree 2' was seen right from the beginning.

How much did 'Stree 2' earn on the first day?

According to the latest report of Saccanilk, the film has done a massive business of 46 crores on the first day of its release. However, these figures are preliminary and there can be some changes in them. 

But including the paid preview shows, 'Stree 2' has made a great opening of 54.35 crores. If we talk about the top 3 gross India opening films, then 'Stree 2' is at the second position.

Film budget and stars' fees

The way 'Stree 2' has scored a half-century on the very first day, it would not be wrong to say that this film will cross 100 crores by this weekend. Now Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao's horror comedy film has become a big threat for the rest of the films released on the occasion of 15 August. 

The first part of 'Stree 2', 'Stree', was released in theaters 6 years ago. If reports are to be believed, the makers have spent 60 crores to make 'Stree 2', out of which they have given 5 crores as fee to the lead actress of the film Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao has been given a fee of 6 crores for this film.

The makers of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao's 'Stree' had initially spent 30 crores. That means, after 6 years, the makers have doubled the amount to make the sequel of the horror comedy. 

The first part of the film was a blockbuster. 'Stree', which had a budget of 30 crores, did a fantastic business of 182 crores worldwide. If we talk about India alone, this film earned a whopping 167 crores.

Star cast of the film and their characters

Shraddha Kapoor's character in the film is that of a witch, whom everyone calls Stree. Those who have seen 'Stree' before, will be fully aware of her character. In the first part, Stree used to kidnap the men of the village. But this time she is seen protecting Chanderi village. 

Although Vicky always carries the responsibility of protecting the village on his shoulders, this role is played by Rajkumar Rao. Rudra Bhaiya i.e. everyone's favorite Pankaj Tripathi has also won everyone's heart with his work. 

Aparshakti Khurana is seen attracting everyone's attention by playing Bittu in this film. Abhishek Banerjee is seen playing the role of Jana. Abhishek is impressing everyone a lot with his comic timing.
