"Laapataa Ladies" at the Oscars
The film Missing Ladies, made under the banner of Mir Khan's production house, will be India's official entry in the Oscars 2025. The Film Federation of India has selected Missing Ladies from a list of 29 films. Directed by Kiran Rao, the film was released in theaters on March 2 this year. Apart from these, Malayalam National Award winning film 'Aattam', Cannes award winning 'All We Imagine As Light', Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan's Telugu film Kalki 2898 AD which earned huge amount, Vijay Sethupathi's Tamil film Maharaja and Teja Sajja starrer Telugu film Hanuman-Man were also in this race. However, the story of the missing ladies overshadowed all these.
