Supply is being done from here
The ministry said that similar price improvement was also reported from major markets like Pimpalgaon (Maharashtra), Madanapalle (Andhra Pradesh) and Kolar (Karnataka). The ministry said that although arrivals have reduced at major tomato centers of Madanapalle and Kolar, prices have come down due to seasonal supply from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, which has met the supply shortage across the country. The statement said that favourable weather conditions have supported both the yield and the smooth functioning of the supply chain from farms to consumers. The country's tomato production is estimated to increase by four per cent to 213.20 lakh tonnes in the financial year 2023-24.
