Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked state governments to formulate clear policies, provide good governance and law and order so that global companies can invest more in India.

In his address to the nation on the country's 78th Independence Day, Modi envisioned transforming India into a global manufacturing hub by leveraging its vast resources and skilled workforce.

He also gave a call for 'Design in India, Design for the World' and urged entrepreneurs to create products that meet the needs of both domestic and international markets.

PM Modi told the plan

He said that many big companies of the world want to invest in India. I have seen this after the elections. Most of the people who ask for (time) to meet me in my third term are investors. Investors from all over the world want to come and invest in India.

Modi said that this is a big golden opportunity. He urged the state governments to make a clear policy to attract investors. Assure them of good governance, assure them of law and order situation. Every state should come forward in healthy competition. There should be competition among states to attract investors.

India will become such a global hub

Modi stressed that if there is a need to change policies, then the states should do so according to global requirements. He said that the states should also create land banks.

Modi said that the central government alone cannot do all the work to bring investment, because the projects are implemented in the states and investors have to communicate with the state governments on a daily basis.

We will have to work on 'Design in India'

Modi said that when the whole world is committed to invest in India, it is our responsibility to leave our old habits and come forward with a clear policy.

You will see the results in your state and your state will also shine, I assure you this. He said that it is very important that India is recognized for its best quality. He emphasized that the country should work on 'Design in India' for the world.

Modi said that we have to make efforts so that Indian standards become international standards. When Indian standards become international standards, then everything of ours will get approval easily. He said that India is a country full of talent and can give a lot of new things to the world in the field of design.
