If you are thinking of going home for the festival, then a good news is coming for you. The government has announced to increase the number of airports in the country. If this happens, you will easily get a flight ticket to go to your city or village. India is dreaming of becoming a developed nation by 2047. This dream does not seem to be fulfilled without the aviation sector.

In view of this, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu has said that his goal is to increase the number of airports in the country to 350 and promote tourism. In his address at a program organized on the occasion of World Tourism Day at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi, he also said that his ministry is working on connecting remote areas which are close to undiscovered destinations.

Naidu is working on the government's vision to promote domestic connectivity and provide better facilities and warm hospitality at airports to welcome foreign tourists. Speaking at an event organised by the Ministry of Tourism, he said that today we have 157 airports but in the next 20-25 years when we will see a real developed India in 2047, we want to increase the number of airports from 157 today to 350.

The Civil Aviation Minister in his address said that in the year 2014, 4.6 crore passengers came to India and now that we have increased the number of airports from 74 to 157, today we are seeing about 7 crore people coming to the country. And, more than 35 per cent of these numbers are coming only for holidays and recreation. He said that his ministry is now connecting many airports which were previously unsafe and which are close to beautiful landscapes.

He said that his ministry is also keen to improve seaplane and helicopter connectivity. The Minister said that air travel is the fundamental link that paves the way for the arrival of foreign tourists in India and we should work in synergy to leverage the best tourism potential of the country.

He praised the Narendra Modi government's Udan scheme for bringing air travel closer to the common man. The Union Civil Aviation Minister said that we are considering connecting these remote places located close to these undiscovered gems by building more airports. We are in complete synergy with the tourism sector.
