Insurance worth crores will be available without any premium
The state government has given a big gift to the government employees of Assam before the festive season. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a new insurance policy for the employees of the state government. Under this scheme, employees will be given life insurance and disability coverage at zero premium.
Under the policy, state government employees will get life insurance up to Rs 10 lakh. In case of partial disability, the policy holder will be provided Rs 80 lakh, while in case of death in an accident, the coverage will increase to Rs 1 crore.
The Assam government approved this zero premium insurance policy in the cabinet meeting. The aim of the government is to ensure the financial security of government employees and their families.
Any person will automatically come under the purview of this premium coverage as soon as he joins a government job. State government employees do not need to apply separately. This scheme applies to all state government employees and will be facilitated through their salary accounts in designated banks.
