Today the 78th Independence Day (Independence Day 2024) is being celebrated in the country. All the banks of the country will remain closed on the occasion of Independence Day. Bank holiday is decided by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Whenever you go to the bank, first check the bank holiday list.

If you feel that this time there will be a long weekend, then it is not so. Banks will remain open on 16 August and 17 August. Actually, according to the rules of RBI, banks are closed on every second-fourth Saturday of the month. Apart from this, banks are also closed on Sundays. Let us know on which days the banks are going to remain closed apart from 15 August.

When will the bank remain closed in August

All banks will remain closed on 18 August due to Sunday.

On August 19, banks in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Itanagar, Kanpur, Lucknow, Shimla will remain closed on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.

20 August is Sri Narayan Guru Jayanti. On this occasion, banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed.

August 25 is Sunday. All banks have a weekly holiday on this day.

On August 26, on the occasion of Janmashtami, banks in Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Dehradun, Itanagar, Kanpur, Lucknow, Shimla, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Srinagar, Kolkata will remain closed.

All banks will remain closed on August 31 as it is the fourth Saturday.
