Selja's statement on changing CM Naib's seat
Expressing confidence of victory in the Haryana assembly elections, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda on Thursday said that both the BJP leadership and Manohar Lal sahab know that the BJP is going and the Congress will win here.
Soon after attending the Haryana sub-committee meeting held at Himachal Bhawan in New Delhi on Thursday, Hooda said that the people of Haryana have decided that they will form a Congress government in the state. Both the BJP leadership and Manohar Lal sahab know this. BJP workers believe that they are not getting respect in the party and the party has no future in the state.
The party's internal assessment, reports from the ground and media reports show that the BJP is going and the Congress will win in Haryana, the Rohtak MP said. After the meeting, Rajya Sabha MP Kumari Selja said that frustration can be seen in the party after the list released by the BJP.
It is like the land which has become barren, they did not get good candidates. They have been in power for the last 10 years and people are now leaving them and they are bringing people from outside. They have already accepted defeat. Their senior leaders are missing.
Kumari Selja said that the Chief Minister himself had won a seat four months ago and that too with a good margin, then what is the reason that he is going to contest from another seat? There must be some weakness. According to the BJP list, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will contest from Ladwa constituency.
Other prominent leaders included in the first list are Gyan Chand Gupta from Panchkula, Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt, Kanwar Pal Gurjar from Jagadhri, Sunita Duggal from Ratia, Bhavya Bishnoi from Adampur and Tejpal Tanwar from Sohna. Meanwhile, Haryana minister and BJP leader Ranjit Singh Chautala resigned from the Cabinet on Thursday after the party denied him a ticket for the upcoming assembly elections.
