India will get MQ-9B Sky Guardian and Sea Guardian drones from America, Biden-Modi did the deal
In June last year, the Ministry of Defense approved the purchase of MQ-9B Sky Guardian and Sea Guardian armed drones equipped with air-to-surface missiles and laser-guided bombs from the US. During a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Quad meeting, PM Modi and Joe Biden praised the India-US Defense Industrial Cooperation Roadmap.
The defense trade between India and the US is growing steadily. India is going to buy killer drones equipped with the latest technology from the US. This deal has been finalized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden. India is going to buy 31 MQ-9B (16 Sky Guardian and 15 Sea Guardian) remotely piloted aircraft drones from the US. The cost of these drones is around $3 billion.

Modi and Biden praised the India-US Defense Industrial Cooperation Roadmap. This important cooperation also emphasized liquid robotics and India's ocean defense engineering, production of unmanned surface vehicles to enhance maritime security.
After the Quad conference, the two leaders held a bilateral meeting. In this meeting, both the leaders described the India-US partnership as very strong. Both the leaders discussed ways to further deepen the bilateral partnership in areas of mutual interest. In the meeting, global and regional issues including the Indo-Pacific region were discussed. The bilateral meeting discussed the Russia-Ukraine war and Modi's recent visit to Ukraine.
In the meeting, both the leaders appreciated the teaming agreement on the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft between Lockheed Martin and Tata Advanced Systems Limited, two companies co-chairing the US-India CEO Forum.
The agreement will establish a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in India to support the readiness of the Indian fleet and global partners operating the C-130 Super Hercules aircraft. This is a significant step in US-India defense and aerospace cooperation. It reflects the deepening strategic and technology partnership relationship between the two sides.
