Hindu teachers are being asked to resign
After Sheikh Hasina's resignation and leaving the country, minorities including Hindus are being continuously targeted in Bangladesh. Now a case of forcing Hindu, Buddhist and Christian teachers to resign has come to light. According to reports, so far 49 teachers have been forced to resign.
Sajib Sarkar said that the violence includes attacks on Hindus, looting, attacks on women, vandalism in temples, arson on homes and business establishments and even murders. Minority teachers across the country have also faced physical harassment. Due to this, 49 teachers were forced to resign by August 30. However, 19 teachers have been reinstated.
After taking oath, Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government in Bangladesh, had appealed to stop violence against Hindus. He had said that he would maintain the Constitution in the country. But it does not seem to have any effect.
