Bank holiday in Assam tomorrow
The new month of September has started. A total of 15 bank holidays have been listed this month. In the September bank holiday list issued by the country's central bank RBI, bank holiday has also been marked for tomorrow i.e. Wednesday, 4 September. According to this official list of RBI, there will be a bank holiday on Wednesday on the occasion of Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Shankardeva.
However, it is important to mention here that there is no bank holiday in all the states of the country on the occasion of Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Shankardeva. This festival will be special only for Assam. Therefore, tomorrow all public and private sector banks will remain closed only in Assam, Guwahati.
Tomorrow is the death anniversary of Srimanta Shankardev's disappearance. He is known as a great saint, playwright, poet and social reformer. Srimanta Shankardev's disappearance led the Bhakti movement in Assam. Along with this, he also used to propagate Vaishnavism.
Earlier, banks across the country were closed on 1 September due to Sunday. After Wednesday this week there will be a bank holiday on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
