3 independents including Savitri Jindal did not get ministerial position
On Thursday, Naib Singh Saini took oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present as the chief guest in his swearing-in ceremony. Apart from PM Modi, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of many states also attended the swearing-in ceremony of Naib Saini.
Naib Saini took blessings of PM Modi by touching his feet
BJP gave a big political message at the national level and invited the Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers of NDA ruled states as well as Governors and Lieutenant Governors of many states in the swearing-in ceremony.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister Manohar Lal, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of 18 states attended the program. After taking oath, Naib Singh Saini took blessings of PM Narendra Modi by touching his feet.
The BJP government has not made a provision for appointing a Deputy CM in Haryana on the lines of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. BJP had support from Jannayak Janta Party in its second term, due to which it had to make provision for the post of Deputy CM to adjust its allies.
This time BJP has got 48 seats in the 15th 90-member assembly of the state, which is two more than the majority figure of 46. This is the reason why BJP has not made a Deputy CM this time.
Independent MLAs Savitri Jindal, Rajesh June and Devendra Kadian have also supported BJP, due to which BJP has the support of 51 MLAs. None of the three independent MLAs has been made a minister.
All ministers except Shruti Chaudhary took oath in Hindi
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini and most of his cabinet ministers took oath in Hindi. Cabinet minister Shruti Chaudhary is the only leader who took oath in English. Her mother Kiran Chaudhary has also taken oath in English in the past.
After Chautala, Naib is the second CM to win from three seats
After former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, Naib Singh Saini became the second Chief Minister of Haryana who has won elections from three different assembly constituencies of the state. Naib Singh Saini won the first election from Narayangarh assembly seat of Ambala district.
He won the second election from Karnal assembly seat, while now he has won the third election from Ladwa assembly seat of Kurukshetra district. Om Prakash Chautala has won elections from five different assembly seats of the state.
